Kazakhstan reports decrease in transporting products via pipelines year-on-year

Kazakhstan’s revenue from the product transportation via pipelines amounted to 120.6 billion tenge ($288.7 million) in Jan. 2021, which is 20.7 percent less than in Jan. 2020, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

The volume transported during the reporting period amounted to 22.4 million tons, which is 8.9 percent less compared to the same month of last year.

Cargo turnover amounted to 11.3 billion ton-kilometers which is 4.2 percent less than during the same period of last year.

The majority of the products transported via pipelines accounted for the Atyrau region of the country, i.e. 6.5 million tons in Jan. 2021, which is 33.5 percent less compared to the same month last year.

Kazakhstan’s largest oil pipeline company is KazTransOil, which provides services on oil transportation on the domestic market and for export.

The company is an owner of the largest network of main oil pipelines and water lines in the country, the total length of which amounts to 5,376 km of oil pipelines and 1,975 km of water pipeline.
