The Azerbaijan Industrial Corporation OJSC plans to increase its export potential and turn the non-oil sector into the main direction of economic development in 2021, Deputy Director of the Strategic Development and Commerce Department of the Azerbaijan Industrial Corporation, Rustam Akbarli, told Trend.
According to Akbarli, in order to achieve the set goals, taking into account the identified priorities, it is planned to manufacture competitive products.
“The main factors in the implementation of these priorities are personnel training, bringing them in line with international standards and labor market requirements. It is thanks to these steps that it will be possible to further strengthen the existing sales channels, enter new markets, and apply diversified strategies,” added the corporation representative.
“Currently, the corporation is doing serious work in the direction of developing existing enterprises and improving the quality and range of products. According to the National Priorities for Social and Economic Development ‘Azerbaijan 2030’ approved by the decree of the Azerbaijani president dated February 2, 2021, a steadily growing competitive economy and human capital are among the priorities to be implemented in the next decade,” Akbarli further noted.
On December 26, 2017, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on the establishment of the Azerbaijan Industrial Corporation Open Joint Stock Company, the shares of which belong to the state.
The purpose of signing the decree is to increase the efficiency of state property management on the application of the Decree of the Azerbaijani president ‘On the approval of strategic roadmaps for the national economy and the main sectors of the economy, the creation of a reporting and control system based on the principles of corporate governance, the achievement of the establishment of beneficial cooperation ties between state-owned enterprises; and increasing production capacity along the value chain.
