Import Price Index in Georgia up

The Import Price Index (MPI) increased by 4.1 percent in January 2021 compared to the previous month in Georgia, while compared to January 2020 the index increased by 16.1 percent, Trend reports via the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

Compared to January 2020 the prices were 17.2 percent higher for manufactured products.

For products from mining and quarrying a price decrease of 0.7 percent was registered, while for water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation services the prices increased by 20.5 percent.

Concerning electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning, the prices were 71.9 percent higher.

The Export Price Index (XPI) increased by 0.6 percent compared to the previous month.

There was a 3.5 percent increase in the prices of manufactured products.

Compared to January 2020 the XPI increased by 15.7 percent. In the mentioned period prices increased for manufactured products by 15.2 percent, for products from the water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation services by 53.6 percent, and products from mining and quarrying by 9.8 percent.
