Kazakhstan sees decrease in sulfur production volumes

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb.20

The volume of raw and unrefined sulfur output amounted to 327,900 tons in Kazakhstan in January 2020, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

The data said that this is an 8.1 percent decrease in comparison to January 2020. This volume also includes sulfur extraction volumes.

The report also said that marble and limestone stone production amounted to 32,000 million tons in January 2021, which compared with the same month last year, is an increase of 12.7 percent.

The production of granite, sandstone, and stone for monuments amounted to 486,300 cubic meters during the reporting month and, which is 0.1 percent less than during the same period of last year.

Production of chalk and non-calcined dolomite amounted to 156,800 tons over January 2020, which is 3 percent more than during the same period of last year.

The committee said that asbestos production amounted to 17,900 tons over January 2020 (an increase of 1.7 percent), while the production of salt, sodium chloride, and sea salt amounted to 28,816 tons, which is 1.7 percent more than during the same period of last year.
