Volume of Iran’s exports through Bilasuvar border checkpoint down

The exports through the Bilasuvar border checkpoint in the Ardabil Province (northwestern Iran) decreased by 11 percent in terms of volume during the 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through February 18, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Director General of the Road and Transport Department of Iran’s Ardabil Province, Kalimollah Vosughi told journalists, Trend report citing the ILNA.

The director general said that about 296,000 tons of goods were exported through the Bilasuvar border checkpoint over the reporting period.

Vosughi added that the exported goods were mainly agricultural products, ceramics, glass materials, construction materials, pistachios, DSP (particle board), dates, polyethylene and etc.

“The goods were mainly exported to Azerbaijan, Russia and Georgia,” he said.

The director general noted that 172,000 tons of goods were transited via 7,500 trucks through Bilasuvar border checkpoint within 11 months. The transit increased by 29 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. The transited goods were mainly mineral water, cement, MDF, gypsum, DSP, rice, profile, salt, various clothes.
