Georgia's import of tubes, pipes, hollow profiles from Turkey increases

Turkey exported 4,076 tons of tubes, pipes, and hollow profiles, made of iron or steel totaling $3.12 million to Georgia in January 2021, Trend reports referring to National Statistics Office (Geostat).

On an annual basis, Georgia increased the import of tubes, pipes, and hollow profiles, iron, or steel from Turkey by 770 tons.

Over the same period last year, 4,846 tons of tubes, pipes, and hollow profiles, made of iron or steel were exported by Turkey to Georgia for a total amount of $3.22 million.

During the reporting period, Georgia exported 7,509 tons of ferrous waste and scrap; remelting scrap ingots of iron or steel totaling $2.38 million to Turkey.

In January 2021, 3,805 tons of ferrous waste and scrap; remelting scrap ingots of iron or steel were exported by Turkey to Georgia for a total amount of 1.14 million.

In January 2021, total imports from Turkey to Georgia amounted to $92,880 million. In turn, Georgia exported goods worth $21,427 million to Turkey. The foreign trade turnover of Georgia with Turkey in the reporting period exceeded $114.308 million, which is 15 percent of Georgia's total trade turnover.

The external merchandise trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to $762.5 million in January 2021, which is 16.5 percent lower in comparison to the same month of 2020.

The exports equaled $224.4 million (16.2 percent lower), while the imports stood at $538.1 million (16.6 percent lower).
