A total of 120 trillion rials (about $2.85 billion) worth of investments were made in the industrial parks of the East Azerbaijan Province (northwestern Iran) during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through January 19, 2021), Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of East Azerbaijan Province Habib Aminzadeh said, Trend reports citing the organization’s website.
Aminzadeh noted that as a result of these investments, 1,300 enterprises will be setting up and 28,000 people will be employed.
He added that these investments were made on the production of TV, construction materials, chemicals and medical supplies, various household appliances and so on.
The chairman stressed moreover, the Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) provide a discount of $100 million on the import of production equipment to the province.
As reported, there are currently 4,800 industrial enterprises operating in the East Azerbaijan Province (northwestern Iran). About 140,000 people work at these enterprises and 90 percent of the enterprises are managed by the private sector.
