As of early February 2021, the volume of foreign trade turnover of ferrous metal products amounted to $35.4 million, which is by 21 percent less than in the same period of the previous year, Trend reports on March 8 with reference to the statistical bulletin of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.
The export of ferrous metal products in January 2021 amounted to $1.5 million, which shows an annualized decline of 32 percent.
A decrease by $8.7 million (20 percent) is observed for the year in import operations for ferrous metal products. So, the volume amounted to $33 million. The share of these products in Azerbaijan's total imports amounted to 4.3 percent compared to 5.9 percent last year.
In general, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover amounted to over $2.4 billion in January 2021. More than $1.6 billion (67.34 percent) of that volume accounted for export, $787.5 million or 32.66 percent - for import.
