Sulfur exports to start from Iran’s Tombak port

Iran will start exporting sulfur from the Tombak port in the Bushehr Province (southern Iran) as of the first half of next Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2021), the executor of the Iranian Pars Oil and Gas Company's project on the construction of the Tombak port, Payam Motamed said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.

Motamed noted that five refineries of Iran's South Pars Gas Company (SPGC) have already connected the port, and the refinery of Kangan Oil Refining Company will also connect the port.

“In general, there will be 3 platforms in the port. Two of them will export liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and one - sulfur. At present, the LPG is exported from 1 platform. The construction of remaining platforms has not been completed yet. Certain conditions are created on each platform for injection of 2,500 cubic meters of propane and butane per hour to ships. And 5,000-50,000 tons ships can dock to these platforms,” he said.

According to Motamed, in addition, it will be possible to be loaded 1,000 tons of sulfur per hour in the platform on sulfur export and ships the with a capacity of 5,000-50,000 tons also can dock on this platform.

The official stressed that it is planned to build two warehouses in the port to transport sulfur from plants. The capacity of each warehouses will be 43,000 tons.

As reported, some 6,700 tons of LPG cold gas was exported from the of Tombak port in mid-February. Thus, the operation of this port was launched.
