The volume of industrial production in Azerbaijan amounted to 7.1 billion manat ($4.18 billion) from January through February 2021, having lowered by 4 percent compared to the same month of 2020, Trend reports on Mar.11 citing the State Statistical Committee.
According to the committee, the growth of industrial production in the non-oil sector in the reporting period amounted to 12.1 percent, while the production in the oil sector declined by 6.3 percent year on year.
Some 64.1 percent of the production fell on the mining industry, 29.1 percent - on the processing industry, 6.1 percent - on the production and distribution of electricity, gas, and steam, and 0.7 percent - on the water supply sector, cleaning and recycling of waste.
In the mining sector, oil production declined by 4.9 percent, while gas production grew by 9.6 percent.
The volume of production and distribution of electricity, gas, and steam decreased by 3.1 percent, while in the field of water supply, waste treatment, and recycling, a decline of 0.6 percent was recorded.
In 2020, Azerbaijan’s industrial production decreased by 5 percent (37.05 billion manat or $21.8 billion) year on year.
