Azerbaijan has exported over 1.6 million tons of hazelnut since early 2021, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Hazelnut Producers and Exporters Association, Ismayil Orujov told Trend.
According to Orujov, the volume of hazelnut exports in value amounted to over $10.3 million, and thereby shown an annual decrease.
“In the first half of 2020, most of the Azerbaijani hazelnuts were exported to the Russian market. By late 2020, exports to Italy sharply increased,” said the chairman.
Orujov noted that the government's measures to promote products under the ‘Made in Azerbaijan’ brand to foreign markets also contribute to the growth of hazelnut sales.
The Azerbaijan Hazelnut Producers and Exporters Association was registered in the Ministry of Justice on October 31, 2016.
