By Fidan Babayeva – Trend:
Azerbaijan’s AzGranata company began supplying its products to Germany for the first time in 2021, Tural Hajiyev, chief of the company’s export department told Trend on Mar.11.
"Since the beginning of the year, the company has supplied products worth $900,000 to foreign markets. The number of countries-importers of our products from January through February included Russia, Malaysia, Ukraine, Germany, the US, Australia, Canada, Poland, Finland and China," said Hajiyev.
"AzGranata is one of the largest producers of alcoholic beverages in the South Caucasus region. Last year, the company supplied most of these products (worth $1.02 million) to Turkey," he noted.
According to the company’s representative, fruit juices are also exported. Its largest volume falls on Russia and other neighboring countries.
Hajiyev noted that a new AzGranata product appeared last year - pomegranate seed, which will be exported this year.
"The company owns 350 hectares of pomegranate orchards located in the Agsu district. The production of pomegranate products is growing steadily every year," he stressed, also noting that the company is able to meet the growing demand in the domestic market, including the market for alcoholic beverages (vodka, cognac, whiskey), due to a decrease in imports.
The AzGranata plant, built in 2011, is one of the largest producers of alcoholic beverages in the South Caucasus region. Along with cognac and wines, the company produces liqueurs, vodka, and fruit juices.
