Big share of Azerbaijan's GDP accounts for industry

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 11

The share of industry in the structure of Azerbaijan's GDP from January through February 2021 amounted to 41.2 percent, which is by 2.4 percent less than in the same period of last year, Trend reports citing the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee on March 11.

Some 10.7 percent in the structure of GDP accounted for trade and repair of vehicles (an increase of 1.1 percent), 8.1 percent - transport and warehousing (an increase of 1.2 percent), the State Statistics Committee said.

Agriculture, forestry and fishing accounted for 3.1 percent, construction - 4.7 percent.

Hotel business and public catering accounted for less than 0.7 percent in the structure of GDP, information and communications - 2 percent while other sectors of the economy - 19.9 percent.

The net tax revenues from import of products in the reporting period amounted to 9.6 percent of GDP compared to 9.1 percent from January through February 2020.

The volume of Azerbaijan's GDP from January through February 2021 has decreased, compared to the corresponding indicator of 2020 by 3.2 percent and amounted to 12.02 billion manat ($7.07 billion).
