Buy/sell operations at Iran Mercantile Exchange revealed

A total of 907,000 tons of goods worth more than 89.9 trillion rials (about $2.14 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) last Iranian week (March 6 through March 11), Trend reports citing the IME’s official website.

However, 939,000 tons of goods worth more than 123 trillion rials (about $2.92 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the preceding week (February 27 through March 4).

According to the report, about 551,000 tons of goods worth about 40.8 trillion rials (about $971 million) were sold in the industrial and mining products section of IME last week.

"So, 231,000 tons of steel, 1,380 tons of copper, 2,310 tons of aluminum, 250 tons of molybdenum sulfur, 27 tons of precious metal concentrate, 160 tons of zinc, 315,000 tons of iron ore, 400 tons of coke and 1 kg of gold bars were sold in this section," the report said.

In addition, more than 351,000 tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth about 44.5 trillion rials (about $1.06 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of IME last Iranian week, the report said.

According to the report, 89,200 tons of vacuum bottom, 117,000 tons of bitumen, 64,600 tons of polymeric substances, 32,000 tons of chemicals, 45,000 tons of lube cut, 2,610 tons of base oil, 30 tons of argon, 180 tons of facades and 1,800 tons of sulfur were sold in this section.

Furthermore, 4,030 tons of various products worth 481 billion rials (about $11.4 million) were sold in the submarket section of the exchange.

“At the same time, 46 tons of saffron worth 4.11 trillion rials (about $97.8 million) was sold in the agricultural section of the Iran Mercantile Exchange,” the report said.
