Azerbaijan discloses 2M2021 volume of foreign trade turnover

Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover amounted to nearly $4.4 billion in the first two months of 2021, which is 12.6 percent less compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports referring to the report of the State Customs Committee (SCC).

In the structure of foreign trade turnover, exports accounted for $2.7 billion, showing a 14.2 percent decrease in exports on an annualized basis, said the report.

As reported, the share of exports for the year lowered by 1.16 percentage points to 63.36 percent of the total volume of foreign trade turnover.

“Imports to Azerbaijan from January through February 2021 made up slightly more than $1.6 billion, having shrunk by 9.8 percent compared to 2M2020. The share of imports in the total amount of trade grew by 1.16 percentage points, up to 36.64 percent of the total volume,” the SCC said.

The balance of foreign trade turnover on an annualized basis reduced by 19.6 percent, but remained positive, amounting to $1.17 billion.
