The share of small businesses in the total volume of services provided in Uzbekistan in 2020 amounted to 51.5 percent, Trend reports referring to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
According to the State Statistics Committee, in the regional context, the largest share of small businesses in the volume of services provided during the reported period was registered in the Kashkadarya region, amounting to 70.1 percent.
At the same time, the share of small businesses in the Fergana region amounted to 70 percent, Tashkent - 69.3 percent, Samarkand region - 69.1 percent, and Andijan region - 67 percent regions.
Earlier it was reported that the share of small businesses in the total volume of industrial production in Uzbekistan in 2020 amounted to 27.5 percent.
In the regional context, the largest share of small business in the total production volume was registered in the Jizzakh region amounting to 64.2 percent. It is followed by the Namangan region - 50 percent, in the Surkhandarya region - 47.3 percent and in the Fergana region - 45.9 percent.
Also, according to the State Statistics Committee, the number of operating small enterprises and micro firms in Uzbekistan as of January 1, 2021, amounted to 411,203.
The largest number of small enterprises and micro firms operating in Uzbekistan fell on-trade sector, amounting to 131,597 enterprises. At the same time, the number of small enterprises and micro firms in the agriculture, forestry and fisheries sector amounted to 40, 719 micro firms.
