Iran industry grows by 7 percent despite sanctions

TEHRAN, Iran, March. 27

Iranian Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade Alireza Razm Hosseini emphasized on pursuing the elimination of redundant laws and barriers for to production in the new Iranian year (started on March 21), Trend reports via IRNA.

"The Ministry of Industry, is doing its best to support the production sector. Several plans, including serious support for the production sector, granting banking loans, facilitating the issuance of licenses are on the agenda of the Ministry," Razm Hosseini said.

"Production licenses are now being issued in one-day, and we are looking to make the rules of industrial estates much smoother," he said.

He went on to say that Iran has over 6,000 stagnant mines in the country.

"At the end of April, we will unveil a plan to make these mines available to qualified applicants through auctions," said the minister.

Regarding the performance of the comprehensive trade system, Razm Hosseini said that this system is efficient by 70 percent. The minister said that 550,000 warehouses have been registered in the comprehensive trade system.

"Last year, at this time, we had problems in producing masks, detergents, ventilators and surgical gowns needed to fight COVID-19," he said. "Today, 22 million N-95 masks are produced daily in Iran and we are exporting these masks as well."

"The ventilators were generally produced in one factory in Khorasan Razavi Province, but in the last few months another factory was set up in Tehran," he said.
