Sales of goods at Iran Mercantile Exchange increase

A total of 3.18 million tons of goods worth 397 trillion rials (about $9.45 billion) were sold at Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) during the 12th month of the current Iranian year (February 19 through March 20, 2021), Trend reports citing IME’s official portal.

This is an increase of 2 percent in terms of volume compared to the 11th month of the current Iranian year (January 20 through February 18, 2021).

According to the statistics, 1.46 million tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth 176 trillion rials (about $4.19 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of the IME in the 12th month.

"About 412,000 tons of bitumen, 255,000 tons of various polymeric substances, 134,000 tons of chemicals, 12,900 tons of base oil, 470,000 tons of vacuum bottom, 20,600 tons of sulfur, 140 tons of argon, 250 tons of facades and 158,000 tons lube cut products were sold in this section," the statistics said.

According to the statistics, 1.71 million tons of products worth 214 trillion rials (about $5.05 billion) were sold in the industrial and mining products section of the IME over the reporting month.

"So, 1.26 million tons of steel products, 11,200 tons of copper products, 87 tons of precious metal concentrate, 650 tons of molybdenum concentrate, 20,800 tons of aluminum, 600 tons of coke, 1,210 tons of zinc ingots, 410,000 tons of iron ore concentrate, 200 tons of cast iron, 25 tons of lead and 37 kilograms of gold bars were sold in this section within 12th month," the statistics said.

At the same time, 14,600 tons of various products worth 1.95 trillion rials (about $46.5 million) were sold in the sub-market section of the exchange in the 12th month, the statistics said.

Furthermore, 658 tons of products worth 4.26 trillion rials (about $101 million) were sold in the agricultural section of the exchange. About 610 tons of dates and about 48 tons of saffron were sold in this section.
