Details of sowing campaign in Turkmenistan’s Dashoguz region revealed

More than 2,200 tractors, as well as 452 seeders and cotton cultivators will be involved in the sowing of cotton in the Dashoguz region of Turkmenistan, Trend reports with reference to the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

Some 132 brigades have been created in the region, which are provided with mobile workshops, welding machines and vehicles for the transportation of fuel.

This year the cotton wedge of the Dashoguz region of the country is 155,000 hectares, from which it is planned to collect 275,000 tons of cotton.

The sowing of cotton in the region began on March 31, 2021, the report says.

Turkmenistan is using foreign equipment in its agricultural sector, and in particular, the equipment provided by US companies such as John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co.KG and Claas. Earlier John Deere company delivered more cotton harvesting machines to Turkmenistan.

In August last year, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental protection of Turkmenistan and John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co.KG signed a memorandum for the development of telematic digitalization in the country's agro-industrial sector.

According to the document, in the next few years, John Deere and Claas will deliver brands special equipment for Turkmenistan.

Reportedly, agriculture in Turkmenistan is developing rapidly. It is one of the most important sectors of the country's economy. The main types of agricultural crops grown on the territory of Turkmenistan are wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beet, fodder, vegetable, and fruits.
