Gasoline jumps in price in Kazakhstan

The prices of food items increased by 0.8 percent in Kazakhstan in March 2021 as compared to February 2021, and by 1.9 percent as compared to Dec. 2020, Trend reports citing Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

The prices of non-food items also went up in price by 0.7 percent month-on-month, whereas prices on paid services to the population increased by 0.2 percent.

Thus, the prices of fresh vegetables increased by 3.2 percent, sunflower oil by 1.9 percent, granulated sugar by 1.7 percent, potatoes, fresh fruits, beef by 1 percent, cereals by 0.9 percent, pasta, tea, lamb, pasteurized milk, pork by 0.8 percent each.

Prices of eggs, chicken legs, increased by 0.7 percent each, flour by 0.6 percent, butter by 0.4 percent. A decrease in prices was observed for rice by 1.1 percent, millet by 0.6 percent, white cabbage by 0.3 percent.

The increase in prices for cars, washing and cleaning products, personal goods amounted to 0.6 percent each, for furniture and household items, medicines by 0.5 percent each, for clothes and footwear by 0.3 percent.

Gasoline prices went up by 4.9 percent, gas liquefied in cylinders by 1.4 percent, whereas diesel fuel decreased in price by 0.5 percent.

Prices for Internet communication services increased by 1.3 percent, rooms in hotels by 0.7 percent, healthcare services by 0.4 percent, services of hairdressers and beauty salons by 0.3 percent.

The prices for railway passenger transport prices increased by 4.4 percent, whereas prices on air transport decreased by 0.6 percent.
