Increasing of exports - Iran's main priority, deputy minister says

The increasing of exports is a main priority of Iran for the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran, Head of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) Hamid Zadboum said, Trend reports citing the organization’s website.

The deputy minister stressed that all obstacles in this regard will be identified and eliminated.

“More than 30 trade infrastructures were supported in cooperation with the working groups on the development of exports in the provinces of Iran and industry, mine and trade organizations of the provinces in the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021). These infrastructures include refrigerated warehouses, export terminals and so on,” he added.

The chairman noted that the Trade Promotion of Organization of Iran (TPOI) plans to invest about 8 trillion rials (about $190 million) in export promotion.

Reportedly, Iran's total foreign trade turnover amounted to about 146 million tons worth $73 billion in the last Iranian year. During this period, Iran exported 112 million tons of goods worth $34.5 billion and imported 33.4 million tons worth $38.4 billion.
