Kazakhstan’s local plants have manufactured 6,272 units of agriculture machinery worth 93 billion tenge ($217.5 million) in 2020, Trend reports citing Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development.
This is 98.2 percent more in volume and 2.5 times more in value year-on-year.
The number of new tractors purchased in Kazakhstan in 2020 was 4,800 units compared to 3,400 units in 2019, whereas the number of combined harvesters purchased equaled 1,200, which is the same as in 2019.
Thus, Kazakhstan currently has 143,000 operating tractors and 37,600 combine harvesters.
The manufacturing of agriculture machinery in Kazakhstan is carried out by Agromash Holding KZ, Kostanay Tractor Plant, and SemAZ plants.
Kazakhstan has manufactured over 75,000 vehicles in 2020, which includes vehicles of all types (cars, trucks, buses, special equipment).
The share of the vehicles manufacturing in the overall manufacturing industry also increased to 4.6 percent in 2020 compared to 3.2 percent in 2019.
Some 8,122 cars were also exported to the neighboring countries, which is three times more than in 2019. Hyundai, Chevrolet and JAC cars of local assembly are in high demand in Russia, Uzbekistan, Belarus and Kyrgyzstan.
