Inventory of basic goods in Iran's ports increase

TEHRAN, Iran, Apr.12

The inventory of necessary goods in Iran's ports has increased to 5.2 million tons, said Deputy of Port and Economic Affairs of the Ports and Maritime Organization.

"Total of 4.1 million tons of necessary commodities is currently stored in warehouses of country's northern and southern ports," said Farhad Montaser Kouhsari, Trend reports citing Mehr News Agency.

There are 18 ships near wharves that carry 550,000 tons of goods and 18 other ships in harbors are waiting to unload 562,000 tons of necessary goods. The total of imported necessary commodities to the country in port storehouses and on ships is 5.2 million tons.

"The Ports and Maritime Organization would provide the list of sediment commodities (that have been stored for more than 3 months and have passed their delivery time) to Iran Customs Administration," he added.

A total of 17,000 TEU container commodities has been declared as sediment to Iran Customs Administration while 700,000 tons of abandoned bulk commodities in ports.
