The export of cotton from Azerbaijan from January through February 2021 amounted to $45.2 million, increasing by 20.3 percent or $7.6 million compared to the period from January through February 2020, Trend reports with reference to the statistics bulletin of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.
The share of these products in the total export of Azerbaijan increased from 1.16 percent to 1.62 percent.
The import operations on cotton decreased for the year by $297,430 (28.7 percent). So, the volume amounted to more than $737,200. The share of these products in the total import of Azerbaijan amounted to 0.05 percent compared to 0.06 percent from January through February 2020.
During the reporting period, the volume of foreign trade turnover of cotton exceeded $45.9 million, which is by 19 percent or $ 7.3 million more than from January through February 2020.
In general, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover from January through February 2021 amounted to $4.4 billion. More than $ 2.8 billion (63.36 percent) of that volume accounted for export while the remaining $1.6 billion (36.64 percent) - for import.
