The plant for the production of iodine in the city of Bereket of Turkmenistan manufactured products worth 2.7 million Turkmen manat (over $750,000) from January through March 2021, Trend reports with reference to Business Turkmenistan information portal.
The above-mentioned amount is 26 percent more than in the same period last year.
The products of the plant are used in inpatient facilities, in emergency departments, and are also supplied abroad.
Turkmen technical iodine is an important chemical product in the manufacture of non-ferrous metals, synthetic rubber, paints, lacquers, combined feed, medical preparations and the purest metal.
In Turkmenistan over the next seven years, the production of technical iodine will increase by 2.3 times, and in 2024, the volume of exports of this product will exceed 1,000 tons.
