Kazakhstan’s Kazgeology company announces number of ongoing investment projects

At present, Kazakhstan’s Kazgeology JSC is implementing 47 investment projects, the company told Trend on April 14.

The numerous regional and large-scale prospecting work was carried out as part of the activity of the company in 2015-2020. As a result, copper, gold, rare earth and other metals were discovered.

In particular, the areas were determined in Terisakkan, Segizbay-Kul, Ushshok, Kaindin, and Tastin regions in 2020 in which the predicted resources of copper, lead, silver, and zinc was estimated.

"The abovementioned facilities were recommended for setting the next stages of geological exploration,” the company said. “More than 20,000 square kilometers of the territory of Kazakhstan were explored as part of the work carried out upon the state order."

“Some 47 investment projects are being implemented, 26 joint ventures, two consortia, which include 37 sites, have been created,” the company said.

"As of 2020, the area stipulated in the investment projects reached 77,200 square kilometers while the total amount of investments in existing projects is 66.8 billion tenge ($154.2 million), of which 24 billion tenge ($55.4 million) have been spent," the company said.
