Iran unveils details exports from Maragheh County

Iran exported about 71,500 tons of goods worth $82 million from the Maragheh County of the East Azerbaijan Province (northwestern Iran) in the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020, through March 20, 2021), Director General of Maragheh County Customs Office, Heidar Jalalzadeh said, Trend reports citing Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

Jalalzadeh emphasized that although exports decreased in terms of weight in the last Iranian year, increased in terms of value compared to the preceding Iranian year. So, about $52 million worth of goods were exported from Maragheh County during the preceding Iranian year.

The director-general added that the exports were mainly sheet glasses, sodium carbonate, soda, raisins and dates, apples, and metal products.

“These goods were mainly exported to Iraq, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Turkey, and other countries,” he said.

As reported, about 89,000 tons of goods worth $52 million were exported from Iran's Maragheh County within the preceding Iranian year.

Maragheh County is located 127 kilometers from Tabriz city, the center of East Azerbaijan Province, and has a population of 268,000.
