As many as 12,000 tractors have been supplied to farmers in Iran in the first half of the current planting year (from September 22, 2020 through March 20, 2021), Director of the Iranian Agricultural Equipment Development Center Kambiz Abbasi said, Trend reports referring to the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad of Iran.
The director noted that moreover, 800 units of combine harvester have been supplied to farmers.
Abbasi added that the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad of Iran provides necessary supports to farmers to increase productivity.
Reportedly, about 30 trillion rials (about $714 million) worth of loans are to be issued for the purchase of agricultural machinery in Iran’s agricultural sector in the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2021, through March 20, 2022). About 30,000 agricultural tractors, about 50,000 units of various agricultural machinery in the area of cultivation, horticulture, livestock, poultry, and fisheries will be purchased at the expense of these loans.
