The Turkmen Halal Dogan company exported tomatoes to Vienna (Austria), Trend reports with reference to Business Turkmenistan information portal.
The first truck with Turkmen tomatoes was sold out as soon as it was distributed to outlets in Austria.
The partner of Halal Dogan from the Austrian side was the company, which plans to continue to cooperate with the Turkmen company to increase the import of Turkmen tomatoes to Europe.
In 2 months of this year, 16,000 tons of fresh Turkmen tomatoes were sent to other countries, and in 2020, members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan exported 37,750 tons of tomatoes to foreign markets, which is 70 percent more than in 2019.
As reported, from January through July of 2020, the physical volume of tomato supplies from Turkmenistan increased by 99 percent compared to the same period in 2019.
Thus, more than 29,000 tons of tomatoes were sent abroad. The main importer of Turkmen tomatoes is Russia.
Tomatoes in Turkmenistan are produced all year round in greenhouses. Equipment for this purpose is purchased mainly in European countries and Turkey.
