BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 24

Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:

Georgia is one of the perspective political and economic partners of the Czech Republic, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic told Trend.

"Therefore, the Czech Republic was one of the supporters of setting up of the Eastern Partnership platform and conclusion of the DCFTA agreement between the EU and Georgia. The bilateral economic relations between the Czech Republic and Georgia are at a good level," said the ministry.

According to the source, turnover of foreign trade of agriculture and food production runs to several hundred million CZK (in 2016 – 486 million CZK/$22.7 million, 2017 – 280 million CZK/$13.1 million, 2018 – 183 million CZK/8.5 million, 2019 – 224 million CZK/$10.4 million and 2020 – 252 million CZK/$11.8 million), which is in favor of Georgian imports to the Czech Republic.

"On the other hand, there is still great potential for the development of our relations with Georgian partners, e.g. in the supply of technologies in the brewing industry, or bottling and packaging technologies for the beverage industry, greenhouses, refrigerated and storage equipment, and of course in the supply of beer - the treasure of the Czech Republic," the ministry added.

Diplomatic relations between Georgia and the Czech Republic were established on January 1, 1993.
