Azerbaijan's trade turnover with five main trading partners amounted to $4.1 billion of the country's total trade turnover from January through March 2021, Trend reports citing a report of the country’s State Customs Committee.
Italy has retained the status of Azerbaijan's biggest trade partner with a trade turnover of over $1.5 billion, with a specific share of 23.25 percent. It is followed by Turkey – over $1.1 billion (a share – 15.7 percent), Russia - $585.2 million (7.5 percent), China - $428.26 million (6.4 percent) and India - $386.2 million (5.79 percent).

Italy again has again become the main consumer of Azerbaijani products during the reporting period, purchasing the Azerbaijani goods in the amount of $1.49 billion (35.53 percent of the entire export volume), followed by Turkey - $739 million (17.87 percent), India - $349.4 million (8.44 percent), Georgia - $261.39 million (6.32 percent) and Spain - about $182.1 million (4.4 percent).
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan purchased most of its products from Russia - for $449.8 million (the share of the entire import volume is 17.78 percent). It is followed by Turkey - $378.8 million (14.97 percent), China - $312.4 million (12.48 percent), Germany - $185 million (7.3 percent) and the US - $116.8 million (4.6 percent).
Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover from January through March 2021 amounted to over $6.6 billion, which is 2.6 percent less than in the same period of 2020.
In the structure of foreign trade turnover, export accounted for over $4.1 billion, which shows a decrease in annual terms by 1.6 percent.
Import to Azerbaijan from January through March 2021 made up slightly over $2.5 billion, having decreased by 3.8 percent compared to the same period of 2020.
