Iran shares data on volume rapeseed purchased from farmers

About 18,000 tons of rapeseed have been purchased from farmers in Iran since April 6, Trend reports citing the Government Trading Corporation of Iran (GTC).

According to the report, rapeseed is currently being purchased from farmers in Iran's Bushehr, Khuzestan, Fars, and Kerman provinces. So, 19 tons of rapeseed have been purchased in Bushehr Province, 17,000 tons in Khuzestan Province, 498 tons in Fars Province, and 354 tons in Kerman Province so far.

The value of purchased rapeseed was 1.36 trillion rials (about $32.4 million).

Reportedly, rapeseed has been planted on 350,000 hectares in Iran in the current Iranian year and 600,000 tons of rapeseed are estimated to be harvested.

One kilogram of rapeseed is purchased by the Government Trading Corporation of Iran for 110,000 rials (about $2.61).

A number of products, including wheat, tea, rice, and other products are purchased from farmers by GTC under a guarantee in Iran.
