Bank of Georgia supports expansion of Metekhi Keramiks company

Bank of Georgia continues to actively support local production, Trend reports via Georgian media.

With the support of the bank, the company for the production of ceramic blocks and bricks - Metekhi Keramiks, has expanded its production line.

The Bank of Georgia said that the bank allocated 2.5 million lari ($725,736) to support the company, which were spent on the purchase of new equipment and technical arrangement of the enterprise.

"As part of the partnership with the bank, modern equipment of our company was added, which increased productivity by 41 percent. In addition, as a result of the re-equipment, the range of products has expanded. The quality of our products fully complies with European standards, which is a kind of guarantee of success," explains Zaza Chichua, Director of Metekhi Keramiks.

Metekhi Keramiks is currently the only producer of environmentally friendly bricks in the country. Its products are characterized by high strength, thermal insulation and dimensional accuracy.

Founded in 2021, the company will produce 8 million bricks a year. The production process employs up to 300 people. The products are used for cladding individual apartments, as well as multi-storey buildings, decorative fences, fireplaces or cellars. The plant plans to significantly increase sales in 2021.

In the future, the company intends to further expand its range, offering customers thermoblocks.
