BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 4
By Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:
At the state level, Georgia and Kazakhstan are linked by the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars project, in which Kazakhstan is one of the significant players, Giorgi Jakhutashvili, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Georgia, told Trend.
"The Kazakh capital is already represented in Georgia in the form of a bank, port oil terminal, oil distribution company and airline, which were followed by many private entities making investments in real estate or other medium-sized businesses, employing a lot of people and intending to develop further," he noted.
According to Jakhutashvili, the accumulated capital in different fields generates private initiatives and various new projects are created.
"Existing projects and initiatives together can further develop and turn into a channel for attracting additional investments, as Georgia has untapped potential and resources are till underutilized," he added.
As he noted, it is very important that Georgia focuses on each country individually in order to use the potential at maximum extent in each case.
Diplomatic relations between Georgia and the Republic of Kazakhstan were established on 24 July, 1992.
