To date, more than 100 individuals and legal entities have been registered in Azerbaijan - producers and processors of fish products, Chairman of the Association of Fish Producers and Exporters of Azerbaijan Zaur Salmanli told Trend.
“Besides Azerbaijan Fish Farm, among the biggest registered producers of fish and fish products are AzForel LLC, AzVarvara, CMS Properties and Fresh Fish,” chairman of the Association added.
"Registration of manufacturers has a number of bureaucratic procedures, which creates the problems for small and medium-sized businesses," Salmanli said. “It is planned to increase the production of fish and fish products in Azerbaijan this year.”
"Fish production exceeded 200 tons in 2020,” the chairman of the Association said. “The work was underway to breed fish species that are not traditional for our region and the certain experience was gained."
“It is planned to annually increase the production of fish and fish products,” Salmanli said.
Azerbaijani export of fish and crustaceans have exceeded $74,000 since the beginning of 2021.
