Turkmenistan pays attention to dev’t of chemical industry

Chemical industry, including the development of deposits of iodine and bromine is actively developing in the Balkan region of Turkmenistan, Trend reports with reference to the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.

The iodine produced by the Balkanabat, Bereket plants of Turkmenistan's Turkmenhimiya State Concern and others is exported to the UAE, the US, Azerbaijan, and Latvia.

Currently, the Balkanabat Iodine Plant specializes mainly in the production of high-frequency technical iodine, which is used in production of photographic materials, dyes, electronics, synthetic rubber, various chemicals, liquid crystal displays, etc.

Turkmen technical iodine is an important chemical product in the manufacture of non-ferrous metals, synthetic rubber, paints, lacquers, combined feed, medical preparations and the purest metal.

In Turkmenistan over the next seven years, the production of technical iodine is estimated to increase by 2.3 times, and in 2024, the volume of exports of this product should exceed 1,000 tons.
