Georgia increases exports of beer

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 15

Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:

Beer exports from Georgia increased in 2020, Trend reports via the National Statistics Office (Geostat).

If in 2019 the country earned $3.4 million by exporting 4,203 tons of beer, while revenue by exporting beer by 2020 was $5 million (5,492 tons). Therefore, export growth was 45.1 percent.

According to the official statistics, beer exports exceeded the volume of 2018 last year, when 4,351 tons of beer worth $4.3 million were sold.

Georgia's top destinations for beer exports:

1. China - $1.9 million, 1,885 tons;
2. Israel - $1 million, 865 tons;
3. Russia - $767,000, 1,086.1 tons;
4. Malta - $344,200, 263.4 tons;
5. Azerbaijan - $324,100, 340.3 tons;
6. Armenia - $170,300, 343.5 tons;
7. Moldova - $104,400, 258 tons;
8. Latvia - $93,900, 69.9 tons;
9. Poland - $80,600, 86.4 tons;
10. Estonia - $45,900, 141.5 tons.
