Azerbaijan sees increase in 4M2021 foreign trade turnover figures

Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover totaled over $9.89 billion from January through April 2021, which is 2.1 percent more compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports citing a report of the State Customs Committee (SCC).

"In the structure of foreign trade turnover of the country, exports made up $6.36 billion, which is a growth of 0.9 percent in annual terms. The share of exports amounted to 64.33 percent of the total foreign trade turnover," the SCC said.

"At the same time, Azerbaijan's imports exceeded $3.52 billion, decreasing by 4.1 percent compared to the same period of 2020. The share of imports in foreign trade turnover amounted to 35.67 percent," the report said.

The balance of foreign trade turnover decreased by 3 percent on annual basis, but remained positive, and amounted to $2.83 billion.
