Several mines resumed operations in Iran

The activities of 61 small mines were restored in Iran in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2021), Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran and Head of Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), Vajihollah Jafari said, Trend reports citing the organization’s website.

He made the remark in a meeting held on the restoration of the activities of small mines.

Jafari noted that moreover, 15 processing enterprises were established to increase the production of mines and meet the demand for raw materials.

According to the deputy minister, the activities of 253 small mines were restored in Iran over the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through March 2, 2021).

The head emphasized while in the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2021, through March 20, 2022) it is planned to restore the activities of 200 small mines in Iran.

Jafari also added that certain auction packages have been prepared in 10 provinces of Iran, and as pilots in Mazandaran and Kerman provinces. Investments will be made on the basis of these auction packages. The auction packages have planned the development of coal, copper, iron ore, polymetallic and chromite ores.
