Azerbaijan exported plastic and its products worth $122.9 million from January through April 2021, which is double the figure for the same period of 2020, Trend reports citing the statistical report of the State Customs Committee (SCC).
According to the SCC, the share of plastics and its products in the overall structure of Azerbaijan’s exports amounted to 1.93 percent.
“In the first 4 months of 2021, Azerbaijan imported the mentioned products in the amount of over $107.7 million. The share of these products in the total import of the country was 3.05 percent,” the SCC said.
Reportedly, the volume of imports of plastics and its products dropped by 5 percent on annual basis.
Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover totaled over $9.89 billion from January through April 2021, which is 2.1 percent more compared to the same period of 2020.
In the structure of foreign trade turnover of the country, exports made up $6.36 billion, which is a growth of 0.9 percent in annual terms. The share of exports amounted to 64.33 percent of the total foreign trade turnover.
At the same time, Azerbaijan's imports exceeded $3.52 billion, decreasing by 4.1 percent compared to the same period of 2020. The share of imports in foreign trade turnover amounted to 35.67 percent.
The balance of foreign trade turnover decreased by 3 percent on annual basis, but remained positive, and amounted to $2.83 billion.
