The amount of procurement on a competitive basis following 301 open e-tenders reached 70.7 million manat ($41.6 million) in Azerbaijan in the first quarter of 2021, the State Service for Antimonopoly Policy and Consumer Market Control under the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy told Trend.
According to the ministry, the steps are being taken in Azerbaijan to improve public procurement, as well as to create equal competitive conditions for all producers, expand the participation of representatives of micro, small and medium-sized businesses in public procurement.
"As a result of transferring the procedures to e-format, more comfortable conditions have been created for the participation of entrepreneurs in public procurement," the message said.
The State Service for Antimonopoly Policy and Consumer Market Control has prepared a draft amendment to the law "On public procurement".
