Ukraine is one of Georgia's main trade partners, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said, Trend reports via Georgian media.
He made the remark at a joint press conference with Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.
As the head of government noted, the main task of the two countries is to double the trade turnover between Georgia and Ukraine.
“We discussed trade and economic issues. We also noted the need to intensify in the areas of transport, logistics, and various projects. I would also like to note that tourism is very important for our country. We have a lot of tourists from Ukraine, and we will always be glad to see more Ukrainian tourists,” Garibashvili said.
According to him, there are all mechanisms for further strengthening the already strong relations between the two countries.
The trade turnover between Georgia and Ukraine amounted to $218.8 million from January through April 2021, said the National Statistics Office (Geostat).
As reported, of this $97.5 million in exports from Georgia to Ukraine and $121.8 million - imports to this country.
