Georgia imported 176.61 tons of ice cream, worth $797, 600 from January through April of 2021, Trend reports via the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
The value is almost threefold as compared to the same period of the prior year. This year’s figures also exceeded the volume of 2019. With exports worth $314,360 Turkey is the main supplier of ice cream to Georgia.
Georgia imported ice cream from eight different countries during this year. Import reached 176.61 tons worth $797, 600. During the same period of the prior year number of exporters amounted to five countries. The volume was 82.49 tons, worth $283,450.
From January through April of 2021, with $314, 360 or 49.84 tons Turkey was the main ice cream exporter to Georgia. It was followed by Russia –$252, 940 or 54.22 tons; France – $117, 940 or 34.05 tons; Ukraine – $50,510 or 17.13 tons; Armenia – $23, 690 or 13.14 tons; Germany – $17,500 or 3.52 tons; Italy – $11,290 or 2 tons and Belarus – $9, 430 or 2.71 tons.
Form January through April 2019, ice cream imports from nine countries amounted to 163.79 tons, $763, 050. With $266, 470 Turkey was the main supplier, followed by Russia - $142, 790 and Romania – $141, 410.
