The value of Iran's exports to Syria increased by 73 percent during the first two months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through May 21, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Secretary of Syria Affairs of Arab and African Office of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPO) Soheila Rasoulinejad said, Trend reports citing the organization’s website.
The secretary noted that Iran exported $49 million worth of goods to Syria over the reporting period.
Rasoulinejad added that Syria has been the 14th largest importer of Iranian goods for two months: The exports to Syria accounted for 8 percent of Iran's total exports in terms of value in the two months.
"Iran exported $30 million worth of steam turbine spare parts to Syria within two months. In addition, other exported goods were electric supplies, steel and iron shafts and milk powder," he said.
According to the official, the value of Iran's imports from Syria amounted to $2 million in two months.
As reported, Iran exported 16.8 million tons of goods worth $6.32 billion in the first two months of the current Iranian year. The exports increased by 48 percent in terms of value and 17 percent in terms of volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year.
