The number of registered commercial organizations in Azerbaijan increased by 27.2 percent in the first 5 months of this year, compared to the same period of last year, Trend reports with reference to the State Tax Service of Azerbaijan.
According to the data, as of June 1, 2021, out of 1.26 million taxpayers registered in the country, 87.7 percent were individuals, 12.3 percent - legal entities and other organizations.
The total number of taxpayers increased by 16.5 percent: 94.3 percent of this indicator - individuals, 5.7 percent - legal entities.
From January through May 2021, there has been an increase in the number of registered taxpayers, the report said.
“The increase in the number of taxpayers registered as legal entities was mainly due to commercial organizations (97.9 percent). During the comparable period, the number of commercial structures increased by 7.7 percent, to 138,803 units, and the number of non-profit organizations increased by 1.4 percent, to 15,793 units,” the report said.
From January through May of this year, 4,573 commercial organizations passed state registration, which is 27.2 percent more compared to the same period of 2020.
At the same time, 83.3 percent of transactions for state registration of commercial organizations were carried out in electronic form, 16.7 percent - in paper form.
