Copper ores and concentrates claimed first place in the list of top export items of Georgia from January through May 2021, Trend reports via the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
In the reporting period cars were the top import commodity from January through May 2021, according to Geostat's preliminary data.
Share of major commodity groups by export:
- Copper ores and concentrates - $327.2 million (21.3 percent of total exports);
- Cars - $165.5 million (10.8 percent);
- Ferroalloys $144.3 million (9.4 percent).
Top import commodities from January through May 2021 by value:
- Cars - $309.2 million (8.9 percent of the total imports);
- Petroleum and petroleum oils - $255.4 million (7.3 percent);
- Copper ores and concentrates - $233.9 million (6.7 percent).
