Iran's exports through customs of Mazandaran Province grow

The exports of Iran through the customs of the Mazandaran Province (northern Iran) increased by 29 percent in terms of value and 40 percent in terms of volume during the first three months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through June 21, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Director-General of Mazandaran Province Customs Office, Ali Yousefimanesh said, Trend reports citing Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

The director-general noted that a total of 252,000 tons of goods worth $54.8 million were exported through the customs of the province over the reporting period.

He added that the goods were exported to 34 countries, including Iraq, Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Romania, Afghanistan, the UAE, and others.

According to Yousefimanesh, $16 million worth of milk and dairy products, $10.4 million worth of rubber products, $7.7 million worth of various food products, $4.68 million worth of cement, 2.43 million worth of wood materials were exported in the three months.

“In addition, 784,000 tons of goods worth $323 million were imported through the customs of Mazandaran Province within the three months. The Imports increased by 32 percent in terms of value and 5 percent in terms of volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year,” he said.

The director-general emphasized that these goods were imported from 20 countries, including Russia, the UAE, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Britain and etc.

Yousefimanesh added that so, $117 million worth of animal feed, $81.3 million worth of various animal fats, $52.4 million worth of corn feed, $29.8 million worth of equipment and spare parts worth $23.2 million worth of wheat, $4.64 million worth of oil coke were imported.

“Moreover, 39,000 tons of goods were transited through the customs of Mazandaran Province to the special trade zones of Pakistan, the UAE, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran within the mentioned period. The transit increased by 100 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year," he noted.

The official stressed that customs revenues of the province increased by 6 percent and amounted to 988 billion rials (about $23.5 million) in the first three months of the current Iranian year.
