BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 7
By Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:
Georgian economy will grow by 8.5 percent this year, Head of Research at Galt & Taggart Eva Bochorishvili said, Trend reports via Georgian media.
According to her, current economic growth is due to the economic recovery of all sectors.
“In recent months, we are making adjustments in the direction of economic growth. We increased the baseline scenario to 7 percent in June, now we are thinking to adjust it afresh and publish a new one," she said.
When we say that economy will grow by 8.5 percent, we mean the risks that come with coronavirus. In particular, the measures may be tightened, which will have an unfavorable impact on economic growth, but we also have an optimistic forecast and the risks that we consider in the baseline scenario, if not implemented, we expect double-digit economic growth at 20.5 percent by 2021, she added.
"Now, in the post-pandemic period, economic growth is the inertia of accumulated demand, and in 2022, the economy will grow by 5 percent," Bochorishvili said.
