Kazakhstan has lifted the restriction on import of cement from the third countries, Trend reports citing Kazakh Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development.
Thus, starting July 23, cement clinkers, Portland cement, alumina cement, hydraulic cement are allowed for import from third countries.
The lifting of the ban on imports will contribute to saturation of the market in the country’s western regions and will serve as a factor in reducing the price of cement products in the country.
In order to support local producers of the cement industry, the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development introduced a ban on the import of cement from third countries dated April 30, 2021.
However, the issues of the increase in prices for cement and its lack in the domestic market arose.
