Iran reveals data on exports through its Sistan & Baluchestan Province customs

Iran’s exports through the customs of the Sistan and Baluchestan Province (southeastern Iran) amounted to 1.5 million tons worth $479 million during the first four months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through July 22, 2021), Supervisor of Sistan and Baluchestan Province Customs Office Mohammad Ali Khashi told IRNA, Trend reports.

The official noted that the exported goods were mainly cement, dates, gas, coriander seeds and other agricultural products, as well as, iron and steel products. These goods were mainly exported to Pakistan, Afghanistan, Oman and the UAE.

He added that 320,000 tons of exported goods worth about $44 million were the province's own goods. This is an increase of 79 percent in terms of value and a decrease of 18 percent in terms of volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.

According to Khashi, exports of other Iranian customs through Sistan and Baluchestan Province amounted to 1.18 million tons worth about $435 million within the 4 months. This is an increase of 116 percent in terms of value and 112 percent in terms of volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.

“In addition, 540,000 tons of goods worth $329 million were imported over the first four months of the current Iranian year. Compared to the same period last Iranian year, the imports increased by 6 percent in terms of value and decreased by 17 percent in volume. The imported goods were mainly rice, wheat, barley, corn, mango, sesame and etc. These goods were imported from Russia, Germany, Denmark, Pakistan, India, the UAE and China,” he said.

The official stressed that about 10,500 people entered the country, as well as, 15,800 people left the country via the customs of the province during the reporting period.

"In four months, 323,000 tons of goods, including, gas, rice, spices, solar panels and empty containers were transited to Pakistan, Afghanistan and the UAE through the Milak, Mirjaveh and Chabahar customs. This is an increase of 27 percent in terms of volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year,” he said.
